Airside Intelligence Usage Guide in CORTEX Service

Purpose: This page shows how to use Airside Intelligence inside CORTEX Service: where to find it, how to interact, and how to get reliable results. It also clarifies capabilities and limitations so teams can use it safely in operations.

What is Airside Intelligence in CORTEX Service?

Airside Intelligence (Ai) is the conversational assistant embedded in CORTEX Service. It helps technicians and supervisors quickly access ADB SAFEGATE knowledge (product details, how-to steps, safety notes).

You can use Ai to:

  • Find product manuals, wiring info, parts lists, and installation guidance faster

  • Summarize procedures from long documents into quick step lists

  • Explain terms, standards references, and safety concepts at the point of need

  • You can use Airside Intelligence in ANY language

  • Scope: Ai focuses on ADB SAFEGATE products and airside maintenance workflows. It may route you to official manuals for definitive instructions.

Quick start: Using Airside Intelligence

1) Open the Ai assistant

  1. In the web app - MAP , click on an asset to open the asset detail - find the Airside Intelligence chat field below the asset general information.

2) Ask a focused question

Examples:

  • “Show me the maintenance steps for LED PAPI annual inspection.”

  • “Where can I find the wiring diagram for AXON EQ CCR?”

  • “Summarize the safety warnings for inset taxiway lights.”

3) Refine and navigate

Use follow-up prompts to narrow results. When Ai references a manual or workspace, use the provided link chips to open source content in a new tab or switch to the correct CORTEX workspace.

4) Verify against official sources

Airside Intelligence is an assistant. Always cross-check critical procedures with official manuals or your organization’s engineering standards before execution.

Best-practice prompts

  • Be specific: Include model/family, environment, and task type (install, troubleshoot, inspect). Ai will use the Asset type details of the selected asset already to give you a more precise answer. Have a look at Asset Type Management | Import-from-ADB-SAFEGATE how you can optimise the referencing.

  • Ask for sources: “Cite the manual section and provide the link.”

Capabilities

  • Document retrieval and summarization: Finds and condenses ADB SAFEGATE documentation and training content for quick comprehension.

  • Navigation aid: Deep-links to relevant CORTEX Service areas (e.g., Assets, Advisories, Photometric workspace) when available.

  • Terminology and standards guidance: Explains terms and points to authoritative references where configured.

  • Contextual assistance: Uses your current workspace context (selected asset, device family) to tailor answers when possible.

We are looking to advance our models so that you can ask context related questions : “For runway 08/26 LED PAPI, we observed low intensity on unit P3. What checks should we perform?”

Limitations (Read before use)

  • Advisory only: Ai outputs are informational and do not replace official manuals, safety procedures, or certified instructions.

  • Data dependency: Asset-specific advice requires that devices are correctly referenced in Airside Cloud/CORTEX Service; otherwise Ai provides generic guidance only.
Look at Asset Type Management how you can improve the referencing

  • Verify critical actions: Always validate torque values, electrical ratings, and safety lockout procedures against the official manual before performing work.

How-to scenarios

A) Locate the correct manual for a product

  1. Open the asset in CORTEX Service (Assets workspace).

  2. Open Ai and ask: “Open the latest official manual for this asset’s model.”

  3. Follow the inline link to view the manual, then bookmark it in your team’s knowledge space if needed.

B) Summarize a maintenance procedure into steps

  1. Ask Ai: “Summarize the annual inspection checklist for [product/model]. Include safety notes first.”

  2. Request sources: “Cite manual sections.” Open the cited pages to confirm details.

  3. Copy the step list into your work order template if appropriate.

LATER C) Use Ai with photometric results

  1. Open the Photometric workspace and load the latest test for the runway section.

  2. Ask Ai: “Interpret the deviations and suggest likely causes for out-of-tolerance fixtures.”

  3. Review suggestions; plan corrective actions and create work orders as needed.

Troubleshooting

  • I don’t see Ai: Your role may not include access. Contact the service desk through the '?'

  • Results look generic: Ensure the asset is properly identified Part Number = Product ID or model/family

Reference and policy

Airside Intelligence terms and disclaimer apply. Always treat Ai outputs as guidance and verify against official documentation and your site’s safety rules.

FAQ

Does Airside Intelligence replace manuals or training?

No. It accelerates access to information, but official manuals and training remain the authoritative source for procedures and safety.

Can Ai provide device-specific steps for any asset?

Only when the asset is correctly onboarded, identified, and mapped. Otherwise Ai responds with general guidance and links to find the exact manual.

Does Ai work offline or on on-prem installations?

No. Ai relies on Airside Cloud services, which run in the cloud and require connectivity.
